All Members!! The Youth need snack foods during their 5:00 pm Sunday evening meetings. Please sign up in the bulletin insert which Sunday(s) you are willing to bring snacks for our Youth.

Our church is collecting boxes of Breakfast Muffin Mix (no cornbread mix, please) for the month of August. You can put items in the Grace Network box in the vestibule or make a financial contribution. Mark envelopes or checks for “Breakfast Muffin Mix” or “Grace Network”.  As of July 20th, we have received:  92 containers of Muffin Mix  3 can of pears

50th Homecoming Anniversary

Sunday, August 29, 2010

Members are asked to bring food and lunch will be

served in the fellowship hall at 12:15 and special singing

at 2:00 pm.

Invite your friends and family. Invitations will be mailed to our

former pastors and friends of Villa Heights. Several of our former

pastors will present special music.

The complete homecoming service will be taped and the videos

will be available to any who would like to purchase them.

Pastor's Corner 

“You shall thus consecrate the fiftieth year and proclaim liberty through the land to all its inhabitants. . . . For it is a jubilee; it shall be holy to you.” 
                                                                          -Leviticus 25:10, 12 

     Well, August is finally here. Although we have to wait until the last Sunday, it will be a great time of celebrating our 50th Anniversary as a church. We look forward to former pastors and members coming to homecoming and sharing this celebration with us. The Homecoming Committee has been hard at work planning, contacting, and mailing. August 29 looks to be a busy, fun-filled day. We will have our regular Sunday School hour, a special 11 am worship service, a great meal, and special music to follow Rev. Ray Farrow will be bringing us the morning message and then giving the blessing on our food along with other former pastors participating as well. You will want to make plans to be here for all of it. At the beginning of the month, the Hartman Brothers are scheduled to install our new audio visual system which Alda and Bobby Draper have so graciously donated. This will give us time to have it ready for homecoming. I look forward to it enhancing our worship time and Bible studies. Speaking of Bible studies, I am planning on starting a study on September 12. It will be an in-depth study of one of the books of the Bible. You have time to provide me some input if there is a particular book you would like to study. We will meet each Sunday afternoon from 5-6 pm. I don't know about you, but this has been a short summer for me. I look forward to having everyone back together for homecoming and the fall to follow. Happy Anniversary, Villa Heights!
